The Local Academy Council (LAC) acts as a local-level committee that provides focused oversight of a school’s distinct identity and educational performance while operating under the strategic authority of the Maritime Trust Board. According to the scheme of delegation, the LAC is responsible for monitoring the school’s progress against its specific improvement plan and ensuring that the Trust’s vision and values are effectively implemented at the classroom level. Furthermore, these governors serve as a vital link between the school and its community, engaging with parents and staff to provide the Trust with nuanced feedback on local needs and student well-being.
